About The Position

Executes installation, calibration, and maintenance of gas distribution equipment to ensure operational performance. Responds to service requests and conducts leak detection to maintain safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
  • Power Distribution Systems Management - Managing the delivery of power to end users via interconnected systems.
  • Gas Engineering - Design and advise on smooth and safe supply or utilization of gas, including the development, construction, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of gas and gas-related technology.
  • Energy Operations Management - Overseeing the proactive, organized and systematic management of energy use in a building or organization.
  • Outage Management - A variety of computer-aided systems to identify outages and provide instant alerts, and return power to the electrical distribution systems/ grid.
  • Systems Performance Monitoring - Measuring the performance of a system in real time in order to determine problems and other factors that may cause problems in the future.
  • Corrosion Control - Implementing processes and methods of combating corrosion by protecting metals against corrosion.
  • Health & Safety Management - Designing, developing and implementing formal management systems that can help manage health and safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Troubleshooting - The systematic process of diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, or network issues to restore normal operation.
  • Inspection Management - A critical process of quality control that involves measuring, examining, and reviewing materials against standard requirements to ensure materials or components conform to the standards and latest guidelines.
  • This position adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as required by 49 CFR Part 40, 199, and 382, respectively. Applicants must meet all DOT requirements for safety-sensitive positions.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, tests, repairs, adjusts, and inspects reliefs, regulators, control valves, meters, and stations.
  • Analyzes consumption trends using historical usage patterns, customer classes, and external factors to optimize flow strategies.
  • Validates gas quality data from supply points and ensures compliance with safety and commercial specifications.
  • Follows established operating practices and procedures for customer restoration switching and scheduled or emergency operations.
  • Receives, records, routes, and dispatches customer calls, work orders, and emergency notifications.
  • Assists with preliminary engineering analysis to support evaluation of new projects.
  • Assists with installation of rectifier stations to prevent corrosion in gas pipelines.
  • Operates the gas storage plant safely and reliably in alignment with company standards. Starts, stops, and adjusts equipment sequences as needed to meet system load conditions and optimize energy efficiencyand reliability.
  • Monitors system integrity and initiates emergency operating procedures, including notifications to supervision emergency response personnel,and regulatory agencies. Maintans oversight of facility security.
  • Coordinate activities with company and interconnecting pipeline gas control departments while performing minor maintenance and routine inspections.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
