Stone Shop Associate
About The Position
For over 40 years, Metropolitan has been serving developers, construction contractors, architects, and property management professions with a team specifically dedicated to the unique needs of the construction market. We build our cabinet and countertop products to your specifications, within budget, and in a timely manner to meet the customer's deadlines. Positions are available across multiple areas of the stone fabrication process, including machine operation, polishing, fabrication, and field installation. Candidates may specialize in one area or be cross-trained across departments based on experience and business needs. Machine Operators Operate CNC machines, bridge saws, waterjets, and fabrication equipment Read and interpret shop drawings Load, position, and secure stone slabs safely for cutting and processing Monitor machine performance and maintain quality standards Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance Polishers / Fabricators Polish and finish stone surfaces and edges to company quality standards Perform edge profiling, seam preparation, and surface finishing Inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies Maintain a clean and organized work area Installers Deliver and install stone countertops at residential and commercial job sites Ensure proper fit, leveling, and secure installation Perform final adjustments, seaming, and finishing work onsite Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project managers Follow all safety and handling procedures during transport and installation
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to make it to work on time.
Responsibilities
