About The Position

Camp Staff provides work within the youth camp programs produced by Seattle Theatre Group program. They are responsible for leading, guiding and assisting campers in their daily class schedule and activities in a positive and inspiring manner. Camp Staff will reach out to campers and create a relationship of mutual trust. They organize their daily responsibilities and assist in each class as needed in making learning a meaningful process. The goal is to help support the campers’ focus, motivation and learning in their dance, visual art, and personal development classes, and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.   • Experience working with grades 3-5 and 6-8
  • Leadership skills partnered with a    Willingness to follow policies and procedures. 
  • Well-organized and committed 
  • Dedication to racial equity and social justice work in the arts  
  • Creative, energetic, and attentive. 
  • Attend the mandatory Camp Staff Orientation. 
  • Must pass background check
  • Adhere to STG Working with Minor Policies

Responsibilities

  • Attend all daily classes and activities with assigned group, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00AM - 4:00PM
  • Must be available for one or all of the following dates: April 12-17, 2026: 8-5pm June 28-July 2, 2026, 8-5pm July 26-31, 2026, 8-5pm August 2-8. 2026, 8-5pm
  • Attend Mandatory Staff Orientation on the week prior to each program 
  • Assist campers with class content and activities as needed in classes. 
  • Assist instructors or facilitators with classroom management. 
  • Monitor campers’ behavior; act as a liaison between campers and faculty, Camp Manager, and other camp staff. 
  • Report individual campers’ needs to the Guidance Counselor and Camp Manager. 
  • Welcome campers each morning as they enter class.  
  • Assist faculty members as needed in the creation of the end-of-camp performance materials.
  • Participate in supervision of the Campers during their daily classes.
  • Support campers with any technical needs during camp along with the Camp Administrator. 
  • Take group attendance daily as needed. 
  • Participate in all rehearsal, preparation and Final Performance activities as needed to support the artistic staff. 
  • Help with finale performance dance piece for Final Performance along with other Group Leaders and Camp Staff.   
  • Receptive to ongoing feedback and provide meaningful feedback to Camp Manager with the goal of improving Camp 
  • Participate in regular staff meetings each morning at 8AM – 8:25AM and individual meetings with the Camp Manager. 
  • Dress in the Camp staff uniform and in a neat and clean manner ensuring clothing and/or costumes do not contain inappropriate references for children (alcohol, drugs, profanity, etc.).
