About The Position

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for all the back of house Kitchen areas and equipment - this would include properly washing and sanitizing all glassware, china and silverware and cleaning kitchen equipment and kitchen areas. The Stewarding Supervisor will assist the Kitchen and Banquet departments with plate up, transportation of food and equipment needs. The Stewarding Supervisor shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will assist the Executive Steward by leading by example, supporting the team and demonstrate strong professionalism in the Stewarding department. They will be responsible for exemplifying the Woodmark Hotel & Still Spa Culture as well as promoting our hotel values of Honesty, Enthusiasm, Integrity, Accountability and Passion for Service.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory communication skills
  • Efficient knowledge of dishwasher machine procedures
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must posse a valid WA State Food Worker Card upon hire
  • Must possesses excellent listening and communication skills
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ Years of experience in Stewarding/ Cleaning Position preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Executive Steward to lead and supervise the Stewarding team in all aspects of the department to ensure The Woodmark standards are followed.
  • Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other assigned areas in accordance with the Washington Health Code and Hotel Standards.
  • Assist to train all Kitchen Stewards & Night Cleaners.
  • Review all BEO’s and ensure all set-ups and supplies are in place for each function.
  • Ensure all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation and inventoried for warranty.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order, report any items in need of repair and create an engineering request.
  • Follow all hotel and departmental policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all team members.
  • Ensure Stewarding area is clean at all times i.e. tables, walls, machines etc.
  • Assist to monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate number of staff for business levels and functions.
  • Cleans all kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils and maintains them in an orderly condition.
  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand; and ensures proper sanitization
  • Ensuring the proper use of chemicals to clean specific items.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in appropriate storage areas
  • Polish silverware, service ware, and chafing dishes
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, etc.
  • Remove and break down any boxes from kitchen and keep loading dock and dumpster area clean.
  • Sorts and removes trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Woodmark Hotel dress code standards
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all time
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
