About The Position

The Steward position is responsible maintaining kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment, dishes and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Communicates effectively and genuinely with team members and other departments. Maintains a friendly and caring demeanor at all times in a fast pace environment. Maintain a professional image at all times that falls within the hotel and company guidelines for appearance and dress code. Demonstrate teamwork by co-operating and assisting employees as needed. Operates and maintains the dishwashing machine so that clean supplies are readily available for service. (including but not limited to) Washing dishes, utensils, glassware and equipment Scraping food from dirty dishes and washing them by hand or placing them in racks or on the conveyor to dishwashing machine. Checking all dishes and utensils are clean and dry before they are put away. Cleaning and draining the dishwasher machine, and confirm the arms are clean. (If busy, water must be changed every hour) Informing supervisory personnel if dish machine is not operating properly. Learning the use of and proper use of cleaning chemicals and soaps. Learns proper safety techniques for handling and recycling broke glasses and dishware Maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant, butcher room, and kitchen areas (including but not limited to) Sweeping and mopping floors. Steam cleaning or hosing out garbage cans. Polishing of brass, silver, and stainless steel. Wiping down walls and tiles. Hosing down floor mats Putting away dishes, glasses, pots, pans, trays, and utensils. Sweeping and mopping floors Emptying trash Refilling and replenishing supplies Polishing fixtures Wiping doors. Helps collect and dispose of garbage Assists in the transferring of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas. Perform any other duties assign by his/her manager.

Requirements

  • A minimum of (1) years of relevant stewarding/restaurant experience.
  • A minimum of (1) year of experience in a hotel environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining call and courteous at all times.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
