ROLE SUMMARY: The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all food and beverage service areas within the hotel. This role supports Culinary and Banquet operations by washing and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and utensils, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with banquet plate-ups, and ensuring Hotel Drover delivers a safe, efficient, and Legendary Hospitality experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in stewarding, kitchen, or food & beverage operations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain stewarding equipment including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, cookware, and food service equipment using manual and machine methods, including proper use of 3-compartment sinks and approved chemicals.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Inspect cleaned items for cleanliness and quality; rewash items as necessary and properly stack and store clean wares in designated areas.
  • Sort, soak, wash, and polish silverware to meet presentation and sanitation standards.
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen, storage, and service areas including tables, tools, knives, equipment, floors, walls, and drains.
  • Break down dirty bus tubs and return soiled items for proper cleaning.
  • Receive deliveries, properly store perishables, rotate stock, and assist with maintaining organized storage areas.
  • Empty trash, maintain dumpster and recycling areas, dispose of glass safely, and break down cardboard and recyclables according to procedures.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately and complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership; maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.
