About The Position

As a member of American Fidelity's STEM Fellowship you will be provided an immersive look into how STEM is implemented within American Fidelity. You will learn concepts in many subject areas such as software development security operations data analytics database administration IT operations and much more. You will also have the opportunity to shadow and work along side many of AFs IT professionals in these areas. Previous program participants have used the relationships and information gained through the program to enhance how they demonstrate STEM career possibilities in their classrooms. Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience and current teacher
  • Teaching experience in a STEM-related subject
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of audiences such as other software developers, engineers, architects, business analysts, software testers, management, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality projects on time and within scope.
  • Possesses well-developed motivational, professional, and leadership qualities.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work in ever-changing environment
  • Strong commitment to meeting organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Good analytical, statistical, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Inquisitive and proactive with an ability to work independently and a desire to continuously learn new skills and technologies; takes initiative and is a solution seeker.
  • Thrives in a team environment and develops excellent relationships with others.
  • The teacher must currently be in the classroom and be under a current contract with a school for the following school year.
