Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related field
  • Valid State Teaching Certification in Engineering, Robotics, or Engineering Technology.
  • Strong classroom management skills and proficiency with educational technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL) or student-centered instruction is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Design: Develop and implement an engaging, project-based curriculum aligned with state standards, focused on Computer Science, Engineering Design, and applied STEM learning. Integrate computational thinking, coding, problem-solving, and emerging technologies, including foundational Artificial Intelligence concepts and responsible technology use.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with faculty across different departments to integrate computer science, engineering, and innovation into broader, real-world academic projects. Collaborate to design authentic, interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect STEM skills to practical application.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-expectations learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and technical problem-solving. Guide students through the engineering design process, prototyping, iteration, and solution refinement.
  • Student Assessment: Utilize data-driven instruction to assess progress, provide constructive feedback, and close learning gaps. Evaluate student mastery of technical concepts, coding proficiency, and application of engineering principles through project-based performance tasks.
  • Technology Integration: Effectively use Google for Education and 1:1 Chromebooks to enhance instruction. Leverage industry-relevant tools, platforms, and programming environments to support coding, engineering design, and innovation-based learning.
  • Mentorship: Promote leadership, personal responsibility, and academic growth among a diverse student body. Encourage curiosity, ethical technology use, and readiness for advanced STEM coursework, industry certifications, and postsecondary pathways.
