Position Overview The PCS Program Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining world-class Process Control Systems (PCS) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) programs across global manufacturing sites. This role drives process excellence, variance reduction, and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with company and business priorities. The PCS Program Leader acts as a strategic and tactical focal point for process control maturity, training, and best practice deployment, partnering with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in SPC processes and techniques for a wide range of data types and manufacturing conditions.
  • Experience deploying SPC software and work processes in diverse manufacturing environments.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis, data analytics, and advanced process control methodologies.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (JMP, Minitab, Python, R) and manufacturing systems (MES, FDC, APC).
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and influence personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor or specialty materials.
  • Experience leading process control improvement projects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute company level PCS/APC (Advanced Process Control) strategy, leveraging big data analytics and digital tools to drive process improvement and variance reduction.
  • Lead PCS improvement projects, including selection, configuration, and implementation of process information and software tool solutions (e.g., SPC software, data historians, analytics platforms).
  • Establish and maintain a PCS network to identify, share, and leverage best practices across sites and business units.
  • Periodically assess PCS strategy and validate with business and functional leaders to ensure continuous alignment and improvement.
  • Develop PCS maturity and health metrics for leadership oversight and customer visibility.
  • Baseline current PCS/SPC maturity across the organization and set improvement strategies aligned with business and site priorities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, collaborating with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams, to implement PCS programs in priority order.
  • Maintain and revise PCS policies, ensuring compliance and consistency across sites through direct auditing and collaboration with site quality teams.
  • Develop and maintain best practice tools, systems, and work processes for user adoption and leverage.
  • Train and coach a wide range of personnel (operators, engineers, managers) on SPC/PCS concepts, tools, and techniques, emphasizing their responsibility for process control.
  • Ensure PCS Lead within each business and/or site is “trained as a trainer” for them to support in real time their business needs to maintain PCS competency.
  • Develop and deliver APC training for engineers, supporting the identification and application of advanced control strategies.
  • Develop tools, analytical methods and reporting capability for business/site teams to: Monitor process data, identify trends, abnormalities, and sources of variability, and lead root-cause investigations for process drift and yield-impacting events.
  • Develop dashboards and automated alerts for process health assessment, leveraging statistical software and scripting tools (e.g., JMP, Python, R).
  • Drive matching opportunities by highlighting data for equipment, metrology, and site-to-site comparisons.
  • Influence and implement continuous improvement projects based on process control principles (C&E, FMEA, control charting).
  • Partner with businesses and site to help them create and maintain process control documentation (SPC plans, control strategies, work instructions) aligned with PCS policy.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Report PCS health metrics (site/business/enterprise levels) to global quality leadership and the PCS network.
