Statistical Analyst - Pricing and Analytics

About The Position

Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, researches, analyzes and develops analytical models to support our vision to be the insurer of choice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for research, analyzes and development of predictive models in support of our company objectives. Collect, organize, and analyze a wide variety of data to support modeling work and to answer business model questions. Program for data analysis and data preparation. Build predictive and forecasting models and evaluate results. Apply a variety of modern analytics (e.g., Generalized Linear Modeling, Data Mining, Predictive Models), to develop/refine class plans and rating algorithms for personal and commercial lines of business. Develop reports in R, SAS, SQL, Business Objects or equivalent using internal data warehouses and where possible external data sources. Assist in the development and execution of pricing and reserving projects. Write reports and create presentations for analytical projects. Ad hoc analysis, such as: generating tables, listings, and graphs as required. May serve as a contributing member of project team(s), or leader of project teams(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities. May provide leadership to junior staff through guidance and training. Maintains a high level of proficiency in SQL, R SAS or analytical equivalent, and has strong knowledge of some or all of the following: logistic regression, categorical data analysis, ANOVA, general linear models, generalized linear methods, generalized additive methods, data mining techniques, times series, and statistical pricing models (insurance pricing models preferred). Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
