The Stationary Engineering Technician II is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and reporting any control systems related to the safe operation on boiler, WFI, Clean Steam operation at the plant. The Stationary Engineer ensures adequate coverage of all Plant Boilers, Autoclave and Clean Steam Generator during their watch. This will be a 12 hour Shift ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform daily logs and rounds for indications of problems or the need for preventive maintenance; through Work Orders, coordinate activities to maintain and repair boiler and steam generators. Helping to ensure full compliance with all applicable New Jersey State and OSHA regulations. Assist in the performing of routine maintenance on the equipment and systems in facilities with little guidance. These activities include replacing defective valves, filters or steam gauges on a heating system, test boiler water and balance with chemicals, as needed. Responds to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions. May be required to assist maintenance in repairs. Monitor availability of steam, temperature and pressure to meet demand of the plant for production. Ensures cleanliness of the Common Areas, amenity areas, hallways, offices, as well as the exterior of buildings. Update and maintain boiler log books on mechanical equipment and Maintain Emergency Log Book. Complete all assigned task following GDP, GMP & OSHA, and other State and Federal regulations. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires a current Stationary Operating Engineer License from the State of New Jersey. A high pressure Black Seal, Blue Seal, Red Seal or Gold Seal operating licenses. Certificate from a Vocational or Trade School or Associates Degree in Technical field Completion of a three year formal training program in boiler operations from a technical school or military service. Requires knowledge of thermodynamics, boiler operation, generators and electricity. Requires three to five years’ experience in clean steam generators, and boiler operations. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to efficiently and economically operate and trim central plant systems and equipment Familiarity with high voltage equipment operation, maintenance, and the safe test procedures as required Working knowledge of facility monitoring and control systems A record of safe operations and working knowledge of safety standards for plant environments Willing to be on an emergency standby schedule as created by the Chief Boiler Engineer to handle emergency calls. Must be available for overtime in emergency situations, and / or work flexible hours. Willing to work on assigned shift. Willing to cover vacation schedule for other resources at different shifts Available to travel on minimal basis for training purposes.
