About The Position

Identifies and corrects problems with the CUP equipment such as boilers, chillers, chilled water and condenser pumps, air compressors and cooling towers. Monitors building automation systems to ensure proper operation of equipment including start up and shutdown, and normal operating conditions. Makes adjustments as necessary. Takes daily chiller and boiler readings, submits reports as required to meet local and state requirements. Repairs piping systems including pumps, motors, and valves. Troubleshoots electrical control circuits and ability to read schematics. Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Understands and complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures.

Requirements

  • Four year trade school or demonstrated equivalent or in lieu of education 4+ years’ experience as an industrial Stationary Engineer with valid New Jersey Stationary Engineer License.
  • Minimum 5+ years as a licensed industrial Central Utility Plant Stationary Engineer.
  • Requires knowledge of engineering fundamentals necessary for effective and safe operation of complex electrical and mechanical building equipment and systems.
  • Experienced working with steam systems (e.g. high pressure steam boilers), centrifugal chillers, air handling units, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, VAV pneumatic controls, and building automation control systems.
  • EPA approved Universal CFC certification
  • All applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
