About The Position

Stationary Engineer / Boiler Operator Keep critical systems running. Power what matters. Are you the person people trust when equipment has to work — no matter what? We’re looking for a skilled Stationary Engineer / Boiler Operator to join our facilities team and help keep our steam plant and utility systems running strong. In this role, you’ll support essential operations across a healthcare/industrial campus — making a real impact every single day.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting ability across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Hands-on skills with power and hand tools — and a commitment to doing things the right way.
  • Familiarity with medium/high-voltage substations and critical facility systems.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office for documentation, communication, and training.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a healthcare or regulated industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial HVAC, boilers (up to 5 MMBTU/hr), chillers, and hydronic systems.
  • One or more of the following is required: A.S. in Mechanical/Electrical Technology (MET) MECH Certification Accredited Operating Engineer Apprenticeship Military Journeyman certification Valid Engineer’s License & High-Pressure Boiler Operator qualification Universal EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable record.

Nice To Haves

  • BAS (Building Automation System) training/certification
  • Building Operator Certification (BOC)
  • NFPA 70 / 70E training
  • Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, TJC, OSHA, and related codes

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain steam plant equipment: gas-fired & electric boilers, air compressors, generators, and motors.
  • Monitor system performance using meters, gauges, and automated controls — and take action when something doesn’t look right.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct water treatment testing and apply chemicals to maximize boiler safety and efficiency.
  • Respond to emergency calls, troubleshoot issues, and clearly document your work.
  • Partner closely with teammates and contractors to keep systems reliable and projects on track.
  • Champion safety — including strict adherence to OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures.
