About The Position

The Stationary Engineer ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment in the Boiler Room and mechanical rooms according to established standards. The Engineer performs skilled work associated with the maintenance and repair of equipment and tools in the Boiler Room and mechanical rooms. The Stationary Engineer effectively monitors fire alarms and reports emergency codes to communications. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
New Jersey State Stationary Blue Seal (Steam) License minimum required at the Mainland Campus. Advanced license preferred.
Valid NJ Driver's License required.
Minimum of 2 years Boiler Room Operator as a Blue Seal Steam Stationary Engineer.
Must possess a general knowledge in electrical/mechanical skills.
Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications, as well as manufacturers' instruction manuals.
Requires ability to climb
Requires ability to lift upward of 75 to 100 pounds
Requires ability to work in a strained position some of the time

Nice To Haves

1 year trade school or equivalent preferred.
Advanced license preferred.
