About The Position

This position will report to the Director of Ecosystem Programs + Platform and the Director of Portfolio Development to support the Greentown Boston incubator team. The Startup Portfolio + Data Associate will support program development and data projects that will be critical to enable the success of Greentown’s new startup recruitment, ecosystem program, and data reporting functions. With the Portfolio Development team, the Startup Portfolio + Data Associate will be responsible for supporting membership sales operations, including startup lead scouting, data system optimization, and sales data cleaning. This role will support the incubator's ability to identify, attract, and foster high-impact climate startups that fit well with Greentown Labs’ mission and membership services. With the Ecosystem Programs + Platform team, the Startup Portfolio + Data Associate will be responsible for supporting the startup success team processes and data management, including process documentation, review and improvement, data collection, data cleaning, data entry, and reporting. This role is an opportunity to learn about climate entrepreneurship, complex sales processes, optimizing CRM systems in support of sales and program execution, and working cross-functionally across a growing organization.

  • Proficiency with the Google Workspace and Microsoft, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with database platforms such as Salesforce or other similar CRM is a plus. Experience with other tools such as FormAssembly and MixMax is a plus.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or business operations is a plus.
  • Experience working in a startup environment or with sustainability-focused organizations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the cleantech or climatetech industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Data analysis projects. Utilize internal data and market research to identify trends and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Climate startup research and prospecting. Identify potential new members through online search. Organize lead lists and facilitate first communication. Handoff qualified leads to the Membership sales team.
  • Conduct data-entry and data-cleaning activities to maintain the integrity and accuracy of ecosystem and membership-related data.
  • Support ecosystem programs, including mentor matching, alumni engagement, and tracking resource usage.
  • Email campaign preparation. Organize leads list and draft email copy in MixMax. Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance.
  • Provide basic administrative responsibilities and hands-on technical support within Salesforce.
  • Support process improvement projects, from identification to planning to execution.
