About The Position

The Starbucks Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the in‑store Starbucks café, including team leadership, beverage quality, food safety, customer experience, and financial performance. This role ensures consistent execution of Starbucks standards while supporting store‑wide goals through strong leadership, operational excellence, and partner development.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in food service, café, or retail management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver consistent customer experiences.
  • Strong communication, organization, and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and beverage preparation standards.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, ordering tools, and operational reporting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move supplies up to company‑defined weight limits.
  • Ability to work with hot equipment, beverages, and food production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Starbucks supervisors and baristas.
  • Set clear expectations for service, beverage quality, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and customer‑focused work environment.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to build a strong, service‑driven team.
  • Oversee daily café operations, ensuring consistent execution of beverage and food standards.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of all beverages and food items according to Starbucks recipes and procedures.
  • Maintain café cleanliness, organization, and equipment standards.
  • Execute promotional programs, seasonal launches, and product changes accurately and on time.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of all Starbucks products.
  • Champion a customer‑first culture, delivering fast, friendly, and personalized service.
  • Ensure strong connections with customers through consistent service standards.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and escalations promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor service flow and adjust staffing or priorities as needed to support peak periods.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Enforce proper procedures related to food handling, temperature control, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Ensure all associates are trained and certified as required.
  • Partner with store leadership to support audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory control for café products and supplies.
  • Monitor waste, shrink, and product usage, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Manage labor scheduling and productivity to align with volume and sales goals.
  • Review sales and performance reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner closely with the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, and department managers.
  • Coordinate with store leadership on staffing, scheduling, and operational priorities.
  • Support store‑wide initiatives, promotions, and operational changes.
