About The Position

The Starbucks Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the licensed Starbucks café within the store. This role ensures an exceptional customer experience, strict adherence to Starbucks brand standards, strong operational execution, and effective associate development while driving sales, labor efficiency, and compliance with company and Starbucks requirements. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Starbucks café operations, beverage standards, and customer experience expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
  • Proficient with point‑of‑sale systems, scheduling tools, and inventory systems.
  • Ability to motivate teams and drive accountability and results.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Starbucks, café, food service, or retail management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Starbucks associates in alignment with Starbucks and company standards.
  • Create effective schedules to support peak business periods, productivity, and service expectations.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and accountability.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety‑focused work environment.
  • Oversee daily café operations, including beverage preparation, food service, order accuracy, and customer flow.
  • Ensure compliance with Starbucks recipes, quality standards, merchandising, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain café cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness at all times.
  • Ensure proper execution of open, close, and shift change procedures.
  • Deliver an exceptional Starbucks customer experience through connection, speed, and accuracy.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Model and reinforce service behaviors that support Starbucks brand expectations.
  • Manage ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotation of Starbucks products and supplies.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing waste and shrink.
  • Monitor sales, labor, and expense metrics to meet department goals.
  • Control labor hours and department expenses within established targets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health department, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate completion of required logs, audits, and documentation.
  • Ensure associates are trained on safety procedures and proper equipment use.
  • Partner with store leadership to support overall store operations and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support promotions and peak‑period demands.
  • Support company and Starbucks initiatives, pilots, and special projects.
