About The Position

Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a strong emphasis on fast, friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions and special orders. Answer incoming calls promptly, respond appropriately, resolve customer complaints, and escalate to the Store Director when needed. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques through phone interactions, in‑store announcements, and direct customer engagement. Beverage Preparation & Department Operations Possess full knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including preparation, brewing, and serving of food and beverage items. Implement proper and efficient preparation and packaging techniques. Operate equipment such as kitchen utensils, conventional and microwave ovens, coffee grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks. Prepare and maintain hot and cold foods to company standards. Brew coffee and tea according to established recipes and quality expectations. Operate the electronic cash register, total customer bills, accept payments, and make accurate change. Understand proper procedures and maintain an efficient, organized coffee bar layout. Maintain case cleanliness, visual appeal, and proper product presentation. Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the Starbucks area and all equipment, supporting a safe work environment. Maintain proper temperature controls during preparation, display, and storage phases. People Leadership & Scheduling Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to Starbucks employees to ensure adequate coverage and strong service levels. Train employees in store policies, sales practices, and record‑keeping procedures. Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Initiate personnel actions including interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Planning, Reporting & Inventory Management Plan daily operations and monitor production processes following company procedures and profitability goals. Prepare sales and inventory reports; participate in physical inventory every four weeks. Maintain adequate product quantity, quality, freshness, and inventory levels per division directives. Stock and rotate product; maintain organized coolers and storage areas. Ensure proper code‑date rotation for all products within the department. Receiving, Stocking & Compliance Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product. Follow product temperature guidelines, safe food handling practices, and proper packaging techniques. Maintain accurate departmental records and process administrative paperwork. Build displays, rotate stock, and remove outdated or spoiled product. Understand all department opening and closing procedures. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Safety, Sanitation & Equipment Ensure full compliance with cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in all areas. Maintain compliance with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company policies. Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Operate all equipment safely, including blenders, ovens, espresso machines, knives, and safety cutters. Follow emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions. Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
