Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; maintains professionalism with customers and coworkers.
  • Solid understanding of Company practices and Starbucks Department policies and procedures.
  • Frequently lifts and maneuvers up to 40 lbs; bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls heavy equipment.
  • Complies with Company grooming standards and dress code.
  • Requires manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and the ability to stand for long periods.
  • Requires mental alertness, basic math skills, and knowledge of product standards, perishability, sanitation, and labeling.
  • Uses equipment such as utensils, grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, ovens, ordering devices, registers, printers, pallet jacks, and cleaning tools.
  • Operates computer software and electronic ordering systems; requires basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays; consistent attendance is essential.
  • Exposure to potential hazards associated with equipment and work aids.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a strong emphasis on fast and friendly Customer Service.
  • Assists customers by making product suggestions and fulfilling special orders.
  • Answers incoming calls professionally and resolves customer complaints, escalating to the Store Director when necessary.
  • Engages in suggestive selling and sales techniques via phone, in‑store intercom, and direct customer interaction.
  • Possesses full working knowledge of all department duties; oversees and assists in preparation, brewing, and serving of food and beverage items.
  • Implements proper and efficient food preparation and packaging techniques. Uses equipment such as kitchen utensils, ovens, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks. Maintains hot and cold foods according to company standards.
  • Brews coffee and tea; operates electronic register systems to total bills, accept payments, and make correct change.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of department layout and operating procedures.
  • Maintains case cleanliness, organization, and appealing product displays. Ensures all equipment and the Starbucks area remain clean, sanitized, and safe.
  • Ensures temperature compliance during preparation, display, and storage.
  • Schedules, supervises, trains, and assigns duties to department employees; ensures adequate staffing and service levels.
  • Trains employees on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping.
  • Identifies high‑potential employees for development and advancement.
  • Plans daily operations and monitors production for compliance with company procedures and profitability goals.
  • Prepares sales and inventory reports; participates in physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Controls inventory levels to ensure product quality, freshness, and adequate stock. Rotates and organizes product in coolers.
  • Understands and performs opening and closing department procedures.
  • Builds displays, rotates stock, and removes outdated or spoiled product.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensures proper code dating in all categories.
  • Monitors employee productivity and evaluates overall performance.
  • Initiates personnel actions including interviews, transfers, promotions, and discipline.
  • Ensures compliance with department standards regarding quick‑sale items.
  • Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • Performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, checking quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product. Adheres to temperature and storage guidelines.
  • Processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate records.
  • Completes and monitors all required logs, including daily logs, Production Logs, Par Charts, Sales and Labor documentation, and other required records.
  • Controls shrink and department costs.
  • Attends and participates in sales meetings; communicates goals, performance metrics, and sales opportunities to the team.
  • Ensures correct temperature levels and accurate signage/pricing for all products. Follows labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and Company code date policies.
  • Adheres to workplace safety rules and ensures employee compliance.
  • Maintains safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the sales floor, work areas, freezers, coolers, equipment, and displays.
  • Implements emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Performs all duties safely, accurately, honestly, and with integrity.
  • Completes other tasks as required.
