Starbucks / Coffee Bar Manager Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service. Assist customers by offering product suggestions, special orders, and beverage or food recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling through telephone interaction, in‑store intercom announcements, and one‑on‑one customer engagement. Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and escalate to the Store Director when appropriate. Coffee Bar Operations & Product Preparation Maintain thorough knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Oversee and assist with all department operations including preparation, brewing, and serving of beverages and food items. Implement proper and efficient preparation and packaging techniques. Operate equipment such as kitchen utensils, conventional and microwave ovens, coffee grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, scales, slicers, printers, and pallet jacks. Prepare hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and other items according to company standards. Maintain case cleanliness, visual appeal, and appropriate in‑stock levels. Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper appearance of the Starbucks area and all related equipment. Maintain required temperatures during product preparation, display, and storage. Build displays and rotate or discard outdated or spoiled product. Follow all opening and closing procedures for the department. Leadership, Scheduling & Training Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees to ensure adequate coverage and high service levels. Train employees in store policies, food safety practices, sales techniques, and record‑keeping procedures. Identify and develop high‑potential employees for advancement. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate performance. Initiate personnel actions including interviewing, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Maintain working knowledge of company policies as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Enforce proper code dating practices for all department products. Inventory, Replenishment & Cost Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; participate in physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to maintain appropriate product quantity, quality, and freshness according to division directives. Stock, rotate, and maintain product; organize cooler and storage areas. Manage shrink and departmental costs through proper rotation, handling, and storage practices. Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product. Follow proper temperature guidelines, storage requirements, and packaging standards. Maintain accurate departmental records and required paperwork. Safety, Sanitation & Compliance Ensure compliance with all temperature, storage, labeling, and food safety requirements. Follow retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company code‑dating policies. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout all food preparation and sales areas. Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions. Ensure all duties are performed safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Comply with company grooming standards and dress code. Additional Responsibilities Perform other necessary and required duties to support department and store operations. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.
