Summary: The Staffing Response Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels and mixes to meet the needs of the patients based on census, patient population and in alignment with established safety policies and protocol. This role is responsible for applying consistent resource planning in response to cancellations, flexing, floating, and management of unplanned shift vacancies to ensure staffing needs are met. Schedule: This role requires availability to work an overnight shift (8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.) at least one day per week during each six-week scheduling period. Additionally, the teammate will be expected to work one major holiday and one minor holiday each year as part of the team's shared coverage responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year of clerical or administrative experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiating skills to balance individual and business needs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize workload
  • Knowledge of the type of patient care provided in various units throughout the hospital
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations and when to escalate issues to leader

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Business, Healthcare or Related Field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, coordinates and assigns all available staffing resources for clinical units across the system
  • Ensures that all clinical units are adequately staffing according to patient census and acuity by providing continuous monitoring of staff resource
  • Participates in daily huddles to understand staffing needs at each entity
  • Proactively identifies and monitors resource availability, conflicts and shortages
  • Works with Staffing Response Team leadership to adjust staffing according to predetermined guidelines
  • Works continuously with available staff to fill open shifts and balance with existing work schedules
  • Analyzes and challenges staffing requests against key engagement metrics to ensure appropriate allocation of resources
  • Prepares relevant resourcing reports and analyzes for trends
  • Identifies and implements improvements in practices, processes and reporting
  • General administrative and other related duties - data entry, timesheet monitoring, etc.
