About The Position

Jeffrey A. Miller Hospitality Group (JAM) is looking for a full-time assistant to our Staffing Department and its operations to support 700+ unforgettable weddings and other large events every year across our 15 beautiful venues in the tri-state area. This role would report to the Director of Staffing and support the hundreds of waitstaff we employ during the season. While hybrid, this role will primarily be in-person at our commissary in Lansdowne, PA. We pride ourselves on our innovative cuisine and extraordinary hospitality. Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and ability to commute to Lansdowne, PA and our venues in Delco, Bucks, and Montgomery counties.
  • 1-2 years in the hospitality field (catering, event, or restaurants).
  • Prior experience in administrative roles preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods & lift heavy objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Working in various outdoor and indoor environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and graphic design skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Department Support
  • Run incentive programs to reward exemplary waitstaff performance including collecting submissions, providing feedback, and making newsletters to announce winners.
  • Answering questions on the staff phone from seasonal employees and sending them shift reminders and first shift surveys.
  • Printing stationary for our events and assembling paperwork into folders for use by our event staff.
  • Semi-flexible 8-hour shifts from Monday – Friday.
  • Working Events
  • Working a minimum of 20 events as a member of the waitstaff each season.
  • Average of 10-hour shifts typically on a Friday or Saturday.
  • Will be trained into performing more specialized waitstaff positions with the goal of becoming an Event Captain leading the front of house at events.
  • Providing on-site training of waitstaff new hires.
  • Every event worked has the possibility of a gratuity from the client.
