We believe that our collective efforts will shape a healthier future for the communities we serve. How you’ll contribute Prepares and manages the staffing schedule for the nursing department. Serves as a central contact for communication of schedule changes and other pertinent information regarding the nursing staff. Contacts staff to provide coverage for staff call offs. Works with payroll to ensure that employees of the nursing department are paid appropriately and timely. Work with DON in an administrative role . Responsibilities include: Prepares regular staffing schedules for nursing staff and posts schedule no less than two weeks prior to the start of the schedule. Communicates schedule changes and other pertinent information to management and staff in a timely manner. Serves as the central contact person for the nursing department for call offs, schedule changes, PTO scheduling. Ensures coverage for both planned and unplanned schedule changes. Notifies appropriate management of discrepancies in staffing in a timely manner. Monitors employee hours to minimize overtime. Enters schedules/schedule changes into the payroll system. Works with payroll to manage time entry to ensure proper and timely pay. Works with management to maximize efficiencies in scheduling for the department. Educates current and new staff on scheduling, communication methods and processes. For example, requesting time off, schedule changes, picking up shifts, holiday scheduling, etc. Provides additional support to the hospital as directed.
