About The Position

Staffing Coordinator – Healthcare Department Full-Time | Includes Nights and Weekends Santa Marta is seeking a dedicated Staffing Coordinator to join our team in healthcare. This key position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining staffing schedules for our nursing departments — including Assisted Living, Memory Support, Skilled Nursing, and Rehabilitation — ensuring that our residents receive the highest level of care every day. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Prior scheduling or staffing experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of scheduling systems or HRIS platforms (Paylocity, Kronos, or similar) a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as part of a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules for all healthcare areas.
  • Coordinate coverage for open shifts, absences, and vacation requests to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
  • Communicate promptly with nursing leadership and staff regarding schedule changes and updates.
  • Track attendance, tardiness, and scheduling trends; report concerns to department leaders.
  • Assist with onboarding new nursing team members and ensure accurate entry into scheduling systems.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to forecast staffing needs and assist with recruitment support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with community policies, labor laws, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff and residents in all communications.
  • Serve as part of the on-call rotation for the healthcare department.
  • Utilize OnShift as the primary scheduling platform for staff coordination.
