The Staffing Coordinator, reporting to the Director, is responsible for assessing and changing daily schedules as needed, facilitating the maintenance of complete schedules, and resolving daily staffing challenges using advanced scheduling software. This role involves tracking and updating employee demographics, including skills, certifications, point of care testing (POCT), and departmental data associated with staffing, as well as providing accurate record-keeping of employees’ actual hours worked for appropriate payment. The coordinator assesses immediate and projected staffing needs, assigning appropriate and available staffing resources based on budgeted workload statistics and patient census. They interface with unit leadership and Clinical Care Coordinators to proactively adjust scheduling to changing volumes and maintain real-time information in the scheduling system. Key duties also include facilitating schedule balancing, processing call-offs and self-scheduling requests, and managing various schedule changes, leave of absences, and employee availability updates. They are responsible for entering and updating certification and licensure information, recording orientation schedules, and creating new hire and holiday staffing schedules. The coordinator responds to scheduling inquiries and adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
