Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Prior scheduling experience required.
  • Prior related experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility required.
  • Minimum one-year related experience preferred, or appropriate formal education or Buckner training.
  • Working knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures, including infection control.
  • Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
  • Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
  • Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others.
  • Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
  • A friendly attitude and a servant’s heart.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staffing for Skilled Nursing Department under the direction of the departmental managers reporting to the Healthcare Administrator.
  • Respond to staffing issues and make coverage arrangements according to coverage guidelines while minimizing overtime.
  • Train and onboard new CNAs on Buckner policies and procedures as well as influence retention efforts with ongoing support to the team.
  • Provide training to new staff related to the medical charting system and provide ongoing support.
  • Responsible for handling call offs and coordinating with DON and ADONs regarding staffing changes resulting from call offs.
  • Part of an on call rotation and responsible for on call phone as assigned.
  • Coordinate with departmental managers to accommodate approved time off requests.
  • Utilize software to post open shifts and maintain staff schedules.
  • Through appropriate record retention systems, track employee absences, tardiness, and call ins.
  • Notify the employee's manager of any problems, patterns, or policy violations.
  • Perform nurse aide duties, as needed, to support the department.
