The Nurse Staffing Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to ensure that each unit is staffed according to the CA state guidelines. The Staffing Coordinator utilizes the float pool and works with the Nursing House Supervisor to determine which units need additional staff. Other duties include detailed data entry using timekeeping software, ensuring the proper cost centers are charged for staff, documentation of sick calls, answering phones in a courteous, timely manner, texting staff to pick up open shifts and maintaining expiration forms, which involves interfacing with family members and mortuary staff.
