About The Position

H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm, is expanding its Municipal Engineering team. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to work with our Water Resources / Wastewater disciplines in the planning, design and implementation of drinking water, wastewater and sustainable systems to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance. This position would be seated in our Melville, NY office.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline with hydraulic and/or environmental coursework preferred.
  • 0 - 5 years of design experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • FE/EIT Certification preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge with Civil 3D, Revit and BIM a plus.
  • Experience with GIS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing design, computations, and evaluations associated with municipal treatment and conveyance systems including plant design, pipelines, pump stations, water supply, storage, and all ancillary systems needed to meet the project goals.
  • Performing project administration including report writing, project management tasks, construction administrative tasks and client support.
  • Client interaction and collaboration with team members in other disciplines.
  • Conducting site visits during design phase to assist in implementation and creation of project documents and during construction phases to ensure compliance with design.
