The Staff SW Engineer position at Visa Technology & Operations LLC involves designing code and systems that impact a significant portion of the world's population, while also influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability. This role requires multi-functional collaboration to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for various Visa technical offerings. The engineer will actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows within diverse agile squads. Responsibilities include developing robust and scalable products for end-user merchants, B2B, and business-to-government solutions, leveraging innovative technologies to build next-generation payment services, transaction platforms, real-time payments, and Buy Now, Pay Later technology. The role also entails identifying and contributing to solution strategies that enhance the design and functionality of interface features across projects, applying standard programming languages (e.g., HTML, C++, Java) for website modifications, and collaborating on new technology capabilities to improve the user experience across e-commerce products. Additionally, the position involves analyzing bugs for simple issues and utilizing debugging tools.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or related technical field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or related technical field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
Experience in Java, building and consuming REST APIs.
Experience in Spring Technologies.
Experience in Diagraming solutions (flow, block, logical).
Experience in Security and Authentication standards and technologies (OAuth).
Experience in JavaScript and front-end technologies/frameworks (JQuery, React, Angular).
Experience in Building out a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline.
Experience in Database technologies: Oracle, MySql and NoSQL solutions.
Experience in Network architecture, VIPS, and Firewalls.
Experience in Docker, Kubernetes.
Experience in Handling vendor product and integration with internal Windows/Linux-based Applications.
Experience in C#, C++.
Experience in Building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability.

Responsibilities

Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now, Pay Later Technology.
Identify and contribute to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance.
Apply standard processes on the use of programming languages (e.g. HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements.
Collaborate with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products.
Analyze bugs for simple issues and apply debugging tools to verify assumptions.
