About The Position

Staff Support & Employee Relations Serve as a first point of contact for staff about questions related to HR policies, scheduling concerns, communication issues, workplace expectations, and general support needs. Refer employee concerns to the HR Director when they involve sensitive or escalated matters (e.g., harassment, investigations, discipline). Assist with gathering statements and documentation for employee relations matters as directed. Onboarding, NEO & Hiring Support Support New Employee Orientation (NEO): scheduling, preparing materials, tracking required documents, and assisting with onboarding tasks. Conduct I-9 verification, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliant documentation. Complete and track EP Staff Checks, background-related requirements, and credential verifications. Assist with creating onboarding files and ensuring all compliance components are completed prior to start. HR Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate personnel files in accordance with regulatory requirements, agency policies, and audit standards. Track mandatory training, certifications, and compliance deadlines for staff. Assist with internal HR audits and support corrective actions related to compliance findings. Ensure adherence to state and federal laws (FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.) in all processes. HR Operations Support onboarding coordinators, program leadership, and supervisors with HR processes. Assist with leave documentation routing, notifications, and tracking (FMLA, ADA discussions, etc.) as directed. Prepare HR letters, forms, and communication templates. Provide support for updates to HRIS records and staff data. Program & Staff Liaison Responsibilities Serve as a point of communication for programs needing HR assistance, ensuring smooth coordination between departments. Help supervisors understand required steps for HR processes such as performance documentation, corrective action, and compliance reminders. Support staff navigation of benefits enrollment, policy interpretation, and request procedures. Other Duties Assist with HR projects, system updates, and process improvements. Provide administrative support for training, workshops, and agency-wide initiatives. Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned by the HR Director.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, compliance, onboarding, or administrative support.
  • Strong understanding of HR operational processes (I-9s, onboarding, compliance tracking, recordkeeping).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and digital documentation platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OPWDD programs, regulations, or audits is a strong plus.
  • Experience in residential services, day habilitation, healthcare, education, or nonprofit environments preferred.
