The Program Planner plays a critical role in supporting Shift4's Project Management Office (PMO) by assisting with planning, scheduling, reporting, and portfolio-level analysis. This role ensures programs and projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with complete transparency to leadership. The Program Planner partners with cross-functional teams and leadership to drive alignment, manage risk, and maintain operational discipline across initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of project planning, consulting, or business intelligence experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools such as Smartsheet or Monday.com.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve independently, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment in managing risks and escalations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Financial Technology (FinTech) and/or Payments.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
  • Prior experience supporting corporate programs or cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate schedules using Smartsheet, Monday.com, and other PMO tools.
  • Monitor progress, analyze impacts to milestones, and generate critical path analyses.
  • Support project Go-Live readiness and Day 1 activities.
  • Create and maintain trackers, meeting minutes, change controls, closure reports, and other artifacts.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports to leadership, escalating risks/issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation that supports decision-making and compliance.
  • Monitor scope, schedule, and budget for variances.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues, escalating with sound judgment.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Coordinate across departments to align deliverables and dependencies.
  • Ensure interdependencies are managed to maintain program cohesion.
  • Foster strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication.
  • Support financial reporting and portfolio-level analysis.
  • Track program performance metrics and progress against objectives.
  • Provide tools and dashboards (spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps) to improve visibility.
