About The Position

Tyto Athene is searching for a a Staff Operations Coordinator to support a Government Program Management Office in Suitland, MD. Responsibilities: Work is located 100% on government site. Plan and direct administrative, financial, and operational activities for the Government Program Office executive. Identify, organize, and prioritize critical issues and required information for the executive to facilitate efficient decision making. Act as a point of contact and gatekeeper between Program Managers and other stakeholders. Provide oversight and guidance to projects of high importance in accordance with executive’s direction. May act as an advisor to the executive. Facilitate communications between the Program Office and various stakeholders, including resource sponsors, technical/design agents (field and R&D activities, test facilities, laboratories), platform Type Commanders, and other government agencies. Assist with developing and implementing department goals, policies, procedures, and initiatives to support broad functional objectives. Analyze business processes against industry best practices and identify areas where improvements could be made. Develop decision support system that monitors performance against department goals and assists with reporting and auditing processes used to analyze operational effectiveness. Assist with ensuring that department milestones/goals are met and within approved budgets. Ensure program-sponsored systems address defined requirements and are effective and suitable. Evaluate submissions from activities/vendors including proposals, project plans, statements of work, and development/delivery schedules. Identify cost, performance, and schedule impacts and recommend courses of action for Participate in Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and Budget Estimate Submission (BES) processes. Evaluate program cost realism. Some travel required (10-15%).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management, technical, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight(8) years of experience in cross-functional disciplines of DOD program acquisition, RDT&E life cycle support, program management, acquisition planning, milestone review, financial control, scheduling, and quality management.
  • Previous experience as an action officer, requirements officer, operations officer, chief of staff, program manager, or similar position.
  • Understanding of the DOD Acquisition System, Planning Programming Budgeting & Execution (PPBE) system, and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral); able to effectively interact with customers, partners, and associates at all levels.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, web-based applications, and databases.
  • Current active TS/SCI clearance (must have current SSBI) as reported in DISS.

Nice To Haves

  • Former DOD experience, especially with the Intelligence Community (IC) and Navy OPNAV organization.
  • Master’s Degree in management or technical discipline.
  • Completion of various DAU and Project Management coursework/certifications (e.g. PMP).
