About The Position

The Technology Enabling Development Lab (TED) Our core development focus is the host interface firmware layer that sits in the intersection of system software and flash management firmware. This key host interface firmware technology drives Samsung’s breakthrough V-NAND technology and enables our customers to power performance-oriented, demanding, enterprise-class applications ranging from hyper-scale data centers, to big data processing, to software defined virtualized storage arrays and infrastructures. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated engineer to lead and execute functional test coverage and test methodologies for NVMe SSDs.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science, and 10+ years of relevant experience in or a MS in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • NVMe Protocol expertise. PCIe, OCP experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise storage/server systems, and proficiency in Linux and Windows Server.
  • Expertise in storage test tools such as performance benchmarks, IO stress tools, protocol certifications, test execution and bug management tools. Experience with logic analyzers and industry standard test frameworks.
  • Programming/scripting languages: C/C++ and/or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute black-box functional test coverage and test methodologies for NVMe SSDs.
  • Triage failures and work with development Team to reproduce problems, design and run experiments.
  • Analyze customer field issues and improve Functional test coverage where gaps are identified.
  • Provide guidance to the Automation team and assist with test coverage integration into the existing framework.
  • Must be able to work with local US and international customers and OEMs.
