About The Position

Oversees a team of Staff Development Specialists that support the Family Economic Independence (FEI), Adult Medicaid Program. Plans the short and long-range work operations, priorities, and goals within the unit to support income maintenance goals and objectives. Coordinates the work assignments of personnel to ensure that program services are adequately reviewed for program performance and that training needs are met; determines the best approach to assist programs to meet state and federal guidelines; meets monthly with each Staff Development Specialist to review work plan activities and give direction and guidance; ensures adequate coverage of the unit; coaches, trains, and develops staff; conducts performance appraisals. Reviews results of case record reviews and ensures that results are reported to program management. Reviews rebuttals related to quality control and facilitates resolution. Assists team in creating tracking tools and other processes to address identified needs in programs and recommends systems changes as needed. Provides support and leadership in developing training skills across Quality Assurance and training units. Works closely with FEI leadership to establish and maintain partnerships that aid in facilitating improvement in program performance. Serve as the program and training specialist and as a resource and advisor to Staff Development Specialists, Program Managers and Assistant Directors. Plans and facilitates FEI program and soft skills training sessions. Identifies and implements methods to streamline QAT unit productivity to ensure compliance with State, Federal and local policies and procedures while meeting established deadlines. Must possess strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, time management and organizational skills Ability to effectively work with a diverse population. Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft applications preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and three (3) years of experience in human services or income maintenance which includes at least one year of experience in staff and/or curriculum development and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse population

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a trainer, staff development specialist, curriculum developer, or in training administration
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft applications preferred
