The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The NC FAST Trainer develops and delivers system training (classroom and eLearning) to DHHS and county DSS staff on nine economic benefit and social services programs managed through NC FAST. Responsibilities include: leading training sessions (in-person and virtual), managing classrooms, preparing materials, evaluating student progress, and recommending continued training. The Trainer collaborates with stakeholders to design, develop, and revise training materials for adult learners, including on-line, interactive, and classroom resources (e.g., facilitator guides, presentations, job aids). This role also analyzes course evaluations, identifies training gaps, and provides curriculum feedback. Additionally, the Trainer may provide basic application software/hardware support and manage classroom equipment setup.
