About The Position

Position Purpose: The Staff Development Coordinator provides oversight, guidance and direction for the planning, implementation, facilitation, and on-going evaluation of learning and development programs for colleagues. Ensures each learning initiative integrates the mission, values, culture and strategic priorities as it builds core competencies and effectiveness. Create and maintain relationships with internal instructors. Keep current with new trends in adult education, curriculum and effective learning environments. What you will do: Must possess a personal presence characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the mission, vision, guiding behaviors, values, and goals of Trinity Health. Possess the ability to work and interact with various program faculty, diverse groups, committees, and program participants. Serves on various committees such as the Nursing and Patient Education Council and Statewide MercyOne Health Education team. Provide oversight, guidance and direction to assigned learning and development programs including mandatory education, department specific education, annual validations and new product/process education. Identify opportunities for delivering/ reinforcing key strategic messages as they support organizational priorities, culture, and core competencies. Work with leadership and faculty to integrate Trinity-specific material/ messages into the programs. Support the development of the Unit Based Educators, facilitation of Nursing Orientation and Agency Orientation for RNs. Identify additional learning and development needs through evaluations and input from leaders and Unit Based Educators. Works with leaders and faculty to integrate new material in existing system wide programs or champions the acquisition/ integration of Trinity Health specific materials. Solicits input from key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate information/ materials are included. Ability to instruct courses, lead activities, facilitate conversations, and debrief. Hours/Schedule: Full Time/Days, Monday - Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Business, Education, Quality Improvement and a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' work experience, preferably in learning and development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess strong communication (oral and written) and consulting skills.
  • Able to create and manage project plans and oversee the work of others in support of the plan.
  • Possess ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Must be highly motivated with superior organization skills, to handle multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Must be team oriented, willing to take on new projects and responsibilities in response to adult education and communication needs as strategic priorities shift.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with personal computers, peripherals and software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Previous experience in a health-related educational setting desired.
