About The Position

This position is designated as Exempt Policy-Making under G.S. 126-5(c)(3) and is considered an at-will appointment. The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Staff Auditor II to serve on within our Medicaid Audit Division. In this position, you will get to assist with Medicaid audits as a member of an audit team. As part of our team, you will get to: Participate in audit planning meetings for assigned Medicaid audits Gain understandings of Medicaid programs, processes, and internal controls relevant to the audit objectives Develop and perform audit testing procedures designed by the Medicaid Audit team Participate in fieldwork as needed, which may include reviewing eligibility case files, claims and encounter data, provider enrollment documentation, and financial records

Requirements

  • Understands and applies auditing standards
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality audit work
  • Commitment to the Office of the State Auditor, the OSA Charter, and office initiatives
  • A bachelor’s degree with 12 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience in auditing/accounting or program evaluation OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
