About The Position

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Full Time Staff Associate at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, CA. Our administrative teams assume the crucial role of ensuring seamless operations throughout every stage of the delicate client family life cycle, from the initial meeting with families, until final arrangements are made. We serve as the cornerstone of our client family support structure, acting as the glue that holds everything together. Requirements

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Experience handling sensitive or emotionally difficult situations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate communication style and a calm, steady presence.
• Ability to work collaboratively with arrangers, directors, and administrative staff.

Nice To Haves

• Funeral service or death-care industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist funeral arrangers during daily appointments by completing tasks, gathering information, and preparing required documents.
• Place orders for services, merchandise, and third-party items as directed by funeral arrangers.
• Provide administrative support at the conclusion of arrangements, ensuring all paperwork, signatures, and follow-up steps are completed accurately.
• Collaborate with funeral directors and arrangers during on-site events, including services, arrangement conferences, and family meetings.
• Prepare memorial areas prior to services, ensuring a welcoming and respectful environment for families.
• Ensure flowers, memorabilia, and personal items are properly handled and returned to families after services.
• Establish and maintain warm, professional relationships with families throughout the arrangement process.
• Answer phone and in-person inquiries with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
• Support families by providing information, coordinating logistics, and ensuring their needs are met promptly.
