About The Position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Staff Assistant in the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Diagnostic Sciences Department. The Staff Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative and support services within a section, division, or department. This role also includes assisting with the planning and support of program activities, as well as the coordination of office operations. Among the key duties for this position are the following: Responsible for providing administrative, analytical, computing and staff support for the department. Executes assignments and tasks requiring data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, data base maintenance, and forms and graphics generation utilizing a variety of software packages. Maintains all corporate compliance and credentialing information for both faculty and staff. Screens calls and provides information in accordance with organizational policy. Provides administrative support for the New Jersey Diagnostic Service (Biopsy Service). Responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory of necessary supplies for the faculty and staff of the Diagnostic Sciences Department. Coordinates meetings, conferences and room facilities for courses and/or presentations. Responsible for maintaining room schedule for Chairman’s Suite Conference Rooms. Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and responds to inquiries. Develops and implements controls for work assignments under the direction of the Program Administrator. The department is looking to reclassify an existing vacant position, previously held by Gloria Smith who has retired. Title, pay, etc. contingent upon compensation’s review and approval.
