About The Position

This vacancy is open ONLY to current regular and hourly employees who are members of SEIU Local 1021. Per new Article 8.7 of the Local 1021 hourly contract, this job is being posted for ten (10) working days. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Enrollment Services & Special Programs, the Staff Assistant is responsible for all administrative tasks associated with administering Enrollment Services and Special Program and performs a variety of complex tasks in the preparation and maintenance of administrative support services operations. Some work may be in support to the counseling department. . (Positions assigned to this classification are professional level positions which support and are funded by a categorically funded program/project. Continuation of the position is contingent upon refunding of the program/project)

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of clerical and technical experience in general office work, or an equivalent combination of training and qualifying experience, which demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software programs (e.g., MS Office Suite- Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), the internet browser, and e-mail.
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of Peralta Colleges’ students, faculty, staff and community.
