In this fast-paced role, the Staff Accountant will work closely with the Vice President of Accounting, Controller, Accounting Manager, and accounting team to support financial reporting and overall accounting operations. This position is located in our headquarters office in sunny Palm Coast, Florida.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Audit or Finance
  • 2-4 years of Staff Accountant experience
  • Advanced account reconciliation skills
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to create and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and supervisors
  • Positive, optimistic, and ambitious
  • Vast knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting/month-end close/reporting)
  • Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications required
  • Exhibits high level of attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly Business Developer incentive calculations and payments, and assist in evaluating new software solutions related to incentive administration
  • Review financial data periodically to ensure completeness of the data
  • Maintain ownership of certain balance sheet accounts and conduct complex account reconciliations and analysis
  • Prepare additional general ledger journal entries as needed
  • Assist the Accounting Manager/Controller in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial statements that conform to principles of accounting and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in gathering, preparing, and reviewing annual external audit requests
  • Assist and/or facilitate special individual or group projects whenever asked
  • Research and correct financial errors and anomalies identified in various financial reports
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and improve internal controls and accounting processes
