About The Position

We are seeking a self-motivated, goal-oriented individual to assist with day-to-day operations. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions for all entities under Palmieri Enterprise, which includes Dino Palmieri Salon & Spa, Palmieri Builders, and several real estate and land development entities. The Staff Accountant will oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, credit card processing, and invoices. Key responsibilities also include banking, processing bank deposits, reconciling bank statements, and coordinating vendor contract activities. The position involves billing and oversight for real estate entities, including monthly tenant billings and annual CAM reconciliation. The Staff Accountant will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems. They will assist with the preparation and coordination of information for external CPA firms for annual tax return preparation, and handle the disbursement of semi-annual tax payments for real estate entities, quarterly CAT return filings, and monthly sales tax reports. Issuing annual 1099s, gathering W9 data, and overseeing independent contractors are also part of the role. Additionally, the position assists with month-end and year-end financial statement preparation, performs account reconciliations, and conducts ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Associates or Bachelorette degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, ability to show initiative and take responsibility
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office systems and equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Bookkeeping, 3 years (Preferred)
  • Experience with QuickBooks (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of construction accounting (preferred) and familiarity with bank draws and preparation of lien waivers
