About The Position

Inked Brands is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant at our Bowling Green, KY office! The candidate will be responsible for supporting accounting functions across multiple entities, assisting with financial reporting, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, leading month-end close procedures, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. This position requires a proactive, analytical, and energetic mindset in addition to possessing strong communication skills and the ability to be detail-oriented.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience required; multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Financial systems and bookkeeping software experience required (NetSuite preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational Skills– Demonstrates strong organization, prioritizing and managing conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
  • Communication– Superb interpersonal and communication skills. Builds relationships and works collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting functions to support multiple entities
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Lead month-end close process
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting issues.
  • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports
  • Ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data to support the timely reporting of key financial information as required by supervisors.
  • Understand and execute internal controls related to accountabilities
  • Proactively seek opportunities to strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist with the development of accounting procedures and recommend changes to improve processes.
  • Lead yearly income tax process
  • Lead contact with CPA firm.
  • Have the ability to direct concerns and/or errors to the appropriate department(s) within the company.
  • Regularly impress customers with an outstanding experience, service, product, and environment while achieving company goals.
  • Contribute to and support a positive, creative, and collaborative culture.
