About The Position

Staff Accountant Position Snapshot Assist the Assistant Controller and the Financial Services Department with accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Performs general accounting and other related duties for the Company. Prepares and assists with daily and monthly cash transactions and reconciliations. Assists with periodic compliance reporting requirements related to the Company’s revolving credit facility. Provides support to processes and internal controls surrounding property, plant and equipment (“PP&E”) including procurement approvals, cost tracking, project completion, insurable values, depreciation, transfers and disposal. Aids in the administration of the Company’s travel expense policy, expense report approvals, and reporting processes. Files periodic tax and unclaimed property forms, prepares supporting schedules, and assists with ongoing local, state, and federal requirements. Performs monthly and quarterly closing activities including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for financial reporting including, but not limited to, those related to cash, interest income, health insurance, property tax, PP&E, travel, sales taxes, and the Company’s line of credit. Supports the Company’s ongoing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts. Assists with internal and external audits. Assists in special projects as needed. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures and assists with research as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g. Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance) is required and broad knowledge of a general technical field in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years work-related experience is preferred.
