Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reconcile bank accounts and record daily financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring accurate and timely posting of cash activity. Initiate and process ACH and wire payments to vendors. Run financial, credit card, and compliance reports; review supporting documentation; and post related transactions. Assist Controllers with the preparation of monthly general and standard journal entries, financial statements, comparative reports, account reconciliations, and cost reports. Calculate, post, and verify financial data to maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger balances. Serve as a liaison between the Controllers and the Accounts Payable and/or Payroll functions to obtain and communicate pertinent financial information. Respond promptly to guidance and direction provided by Senior Accountants and Accounting leadership. Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned by Accounting management. Essential Knowledge and Skills: 1. Education, Training, and Work Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university. Certifications/Licenses: None required. Work Experience: One to two years of professional accounting experience, with demonstrated exposure to general ledger functions. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel (or comparable spreadsheet applications). 2. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Working knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of modern accounting and auditing. Ability, with guidance, to apply applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Initiative and willingness to learn the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in support of month-end close, audits, and special projects. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform related duties as assigned or requested. Physical, Psychological, and Ergonomic Requirements: Successful performance of essential functions requires the consistent application of accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and common sense, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively with supervisors, department coordinators, management, customers, and vendors. Essential functions are performed primarily in an office environment and may involve a combination of sitting and standing.
