About The Position

Entry to mid-level accounting professional in the finance department. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, assisting with close processes, and performing accounting clerical tasks as needed. The Staff Accountant will assist the Director of Finance as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and revenue audit.
  • Must possess good organizational and planning skills.
  • Must possess excellent administrative skills and thorough knowledge of all aspects of accounting.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer programs and applications, including MS Office.
  • Must have experience with ten-key by touch.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and willing to learn new systems.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
  • Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Must be able to work in a non-smoke-free environment.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Verify, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
  • Provide technical support and advice to finance staff and management.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close process.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliations.
  • Regularly prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, which include but are not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll.
  • Assist with gathering documents, preparing schedules, and compiling data.
  • Coordinate with tribal and TEDA entities to assist with daily activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
