About The Position

Peregrine Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our rapidly growing Finance and People Operations functions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and is excited by the opportunity to grow with a scaling organization. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Approximately 75% of the role will focus on core accounting responsibilities, while the remaining 25% will support HR and general office operations in partnership with the Chief People Officer. This position is primarily in-office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a primarily in-office role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot, Rippling, or similar financial/HR systems
  • Prior exposure to month-end close processes or full-cycle AP/AR
  • Experience in a high-growth or multi-departmental environment
  • Active or in-process CPA license (role qualifies for relevant CPA work experience under an active CPA)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor setup, coding, and payment scheduling
  • Support accounts receivable functions, including customer billing, collections follow-up, and cash application
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Support implementation and optimization of financial systems, workflows, and internal controls
  • Partner with the Director of Finance on ad hoc analyses, audits, budgeting, and reporting needs
  • Assist the Chief People Officer with employee onboarding documentation, benefit administration tasks, and HR file maintenance
  • Help coordinate employee communications, policy updates, and compliance initiatives
  • Support office operations including vendor coordination, supply management, and event logistics
  • Provide general administrative support across People Operations and Finance as needed
