How We LEAD Universal Music Group (UMG) currently has an opening for a Staff Accountant position within its Royalty Accounting Group division. This position will support the royalty accounting functions for the U.S. Division of Bravado Merchandising Service Group. The ideal candidate will be a driven self-starter and possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. How You'll CREATE In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of accounting, analysis, and reporting activities, including: Performing monthly royalty calculations and accruals in accordance with contractual terms and accounting standards Reconciling royalty statements to Artist Sub-ledger in GL Preparing and posting monthly journal entries using SAP and ServiceNow Creating and maintaining detailed supporting schedules Conducting GL account reconciliations and variance analysis Collaborating with other internal departments to research and resolve royalty accounting issues and inquires Preparing monthly artist studies and analyzing the activity Communicating with label finance representatives to stay current with royalty related activity Supporting various special projects and process improvement initiatives Bring Your VIBE Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA a plus Strong Excel skills required; Macros or PowerQuery experience a plus Strong analytical skills required; along with attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines Logical thinker with the ability to identify and solve problems efficiently Highly motivated and eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges Possess strong oral and written communication skills Experience with SAP or similar general ledger applications a plus Authorized to work in the US

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA a plus
  • Strong Excel skills required; Macros or PowerQuery experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills required; along with attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Logical thinker with the ability to identify and solve problems efficiently
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with SAP or similar general ledger applications a plus

Responsibilities
