Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with accounting and payroll software required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with general ledger postings, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain payroll for the company meeting all payroll deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for updates and changes to employee records to ensure accuracy with regards to the preparation, transmission, or distribution of employee payroll checks, including items affecting final payroll checks for terminated employees, setup of newly hired employees, and/or changes to existing employee data.
  • Maintain financial reporting in accounting software.
  • Process invoice payments and check distributions under the guidance and approval of the Controller.
  • Maintain files for all, commissions, retirement account, and payroll records.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly reconciliation of all deposits with the appropriate Spooner, Inc. bank statements.
  • Prepare and submit monthly journal entries to support the monthly closing process.
  • Prepare final reconciliation between accounting system and Cash Log before Monthly Closing.
  • Responsible for all aspects of accounting for Spooner Real Estate.
  • Handle all correspondence and communicate with both internal and external customers utilizing exceptional customer service skills with the intention of promoting and participatingin positive relationship development, maintaining open and consistent dialogue while building relationships, and aligning strategies with Spooner’s customer service goals and Core Values.
  • Communicate confidential information with the appropriate parties related to both employee and company financial information using sound judgment.
  • Promote and participate in educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of job functions, industry changes, regulatory standards, and skill development.
  • Meet regularly with the Controller to review, analyze, and develop individual and team goals and expectations.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA standards.
