We put our team-members into the best position to capitalize on our collective strengths to drive growth for the entire organization because we are all one team. As a member of the Finance Team, the Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of company financial information, and to compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for analysis, evaluation, and planning purposes. This position has a hybrid work schedule following an initial onboarding/training period.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting/Finance from a four-year college or university, at least 2 years of hands-on financial experience in a fast-paced environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ensure compliance with those principles.
  • Ability to create financial reports from given information.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and the use of accounting software.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Problem solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems.
  • Project management skills:  establishing objectives, timelines and deadlines; action planning to meet deadlines; evaluating current and future positions.
  • Ability to attend to detail at a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily responsibilities in a timely manner, including processing expense reports, coding accounts payable invoices, and responding to email inquiries as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accurate allocation of expenses and proper coding of invoices.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and analysis.
  • Prepare routine to complex general ledger reconciliations and related journal entries; maintain appropriate GL support. Including, but not limited to: Cash and rent check requests, Inventory, Intercompany transactions, Prepaid Expenses, Fixed Assets, Monthly Accruals.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager & Controller with year-end closing, including preparation of audit schedules and providing auditors with necessary information.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements.
  • Establish and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with other internal departments to maintain open lines of communication across departments.
